Tim Ferris / Ryan Holiday Interview
Jarrod Glandt left college in his 3rd year atSan Diego. He got a job selling print and online advertising and at 21 and quickly became the #2 rep in the country making $150k/yr. His territory, and income got cut into a third and his situation quickly changed.
He left that job to go work for his father, but it wasn't quite what he was looking for. He came across a video of Grant Cardone, and decided he needed Grant, and only Grant to hire him.
After initially reaching out with no luck. he followed up everyday for about 2 months before he was invited to interview (on a Sunday). After the dust cleared, he was offered the job. It was an entry-level salesperson, receptionist, extra hand, do whatever it takes type of role. That’s when the hard work started.
He started at $2500 per month plus a small residual commission on deals he wrote. He was broke, in debt, making hardly any money, sleeping on an air mattress, and selling a brand new product nobody knew about. He learned the value of real, hard work.
That’s when it all changed. It’s funny what 6 days a week and 75-80 hours of work will do for business. Becoming a true student of the game is what really made the difference for Jarrod. He currently is the EVP for Grant Cardone and the Co-Host of Young Hustlers podcast, he's here to kick your sales into gear.

I love podcasting, its really my passion but it took my a long time to do it correctly. This is my second go round at a podcast, but I learned a lot about how to do it correctly and I also learned I was doing it with the wrong things in mind. My real purpose should always be the audience and not just throwing out as much content as I can. Quality content is king and I needed to change my operating procedure.
So, what did I do differently? Here it goes:

Jesse Tevelow grew up in a small suburb outside of Washington DC. After surviving the public schooling system, he attended the University of Michigan, graduating four years later with a heap of debt and a flimsy certificate saying he wasn’t dumb. Life after college was painfully dull. Two years after graduation, he was bored to death, working at a consulting firm in New York City. So, he quit his job and co-founded a startup, which went on to generate millions of dollars. he worked there for seven years, but he was eventually fired for being (admittedly) combative and generally useless. Battling intense fear and self-doubt, I picked myself back up again and decided to write this book.
Writing The Connection Algorithm has been an incredible journey for Jesse. Without a publisher, an editor, or a marketing budget, he somehow still managed to write a book that consistently ranks among the top business books on Amazon. It has reached a #1 ranking in Entrepreneurship, Management, Knowledge Capital, and Personal Success, ranking as high as #867 out of roughly 12 million books available. That means his book is in the top 0.01%, ranking higher than 99.99% of all other books. He never could have imagined this outcome. The irony is that it perfectly supports my book's message: that taking great risks introduces the possibility of great success, regardless of your resources or background.

Josh Delaney is a serial entrepreneur to the furthest extent of the word. One of the hardest issues I had with Josh, is that there is no real category to put him in; he is a full-time hustler. Josh broke into the business world at 18 years old starting his career as a professional network marketer & sales professional. Shortly after with his newly founded time freedom and success he went on to experiment with his health and fitness in his spare time and went from geek to fitness freak in less than 60 days.
In 2013, he co-founded the revolutionary non-profit, DoingMyPart.com, making it no longer an issue of money that people could not participate int charity; it created true people power. As if that was not enough, Josh later went on and purchased multiple Anytime Fitness franchises in a very short time, and with his sales & marketing skills he quickly transformed their culture.
He currently is working on making sales something more easily workable for the every day person.

You tell others what to do in a very commanding fashion. You do no help, but demand. You do not acknowledge things going on in your team members live's and help them through. Then, you wonder why people do no respect you. This is not referring to any person in particular, but rather the archetype of what the traditional corporate world looks for in a boss.
Business leaders are beginning to learn more and more that being a good leader is about leading by example, and leading with kindness. Sound's an awful lot like Sun Tzu's 'Art of War.' It has been known for many centuries that this is the most effective way to lead, but it is not until now that corporate culture is shifting.
The 1980's are the down time for this type of image, and the inspiration for such movies as 'Office Space.' A boss like Lundberg in the film that expects his employees to work weekends while he relaxes, cracking the whip every so often to tell them to work.
Here's some traits of the new modern era leader, such a Howard Schultz:
If some of these traits describe you, then, well done! As a leader, you are headed in the correct direction. If it does not, then realize you need to grow and work towards being that better person that can inspire others to greatness.
