In his newest book, 'The College Cartel', Sahaj Sharda is starting an essential debate about the monopolistic greed of the Ivy League colleges and other elite schools.
In recent years, elite colleges have been sued for price-fixing, sued for discrimination in admissions, and scandalized by Varsity Blues. Sahaj's book is both an exploration of these scandals and an analysis of the underlying force creating them: an artificial scarcity of elite seats.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, America's top-ranked high school, Sahaj noticed early on that plenty of intelligent students who can obviously handle the rigor at elite colleges are rejected every year. Having been an undergraduate student at Georgetown when the Varsity Blues scandal broke out, Sahaj further witnessed a fellow classmate's parents sentenced to jail.
Seeing these things, Sahaj was forced to question why.
'Why don't elite colleges want more students?'
'Why do elite colleges refuse customers?'
As Sahaj explains in his book, the answer lies in an elite college seat cartel which has been successful at restricting enrollment across America's top colleges. Against students, this college cartel has falsely increased prices through scarcity and also outright price-fixing.
Sahaj is attending Columbia Law School's, where he will focus on antitrust laws so that he can fight the economically abusive use of monopoly power by big companies in higher education and beyond.

Dr. Watson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, holds a Master’s Degree from the California School of Professional Psychology-Fresno and a Doctorate in Clinical Depth/Dynamic Psychology (2002) from CSPP-Alliant University.
Dr. Watson also is a former Chief Supervising Psychologist-Executive for the State of WI-Dept. of Corrections-KMCI (2011-2013), and was responsible for oversight of all mental health services for a medium secure institution of approximately 1,200 inmates.

He is CEO advisor and investor to multiple companies, several of which have reached multi-billion dollar “unicorn” status, including Internet Brands WebMD, MobilityWare, FIGS and Vobile. He’s also involved in the entertainment industry with investments in Stampede and TEG+, and consumer with Philz Coffee and Francesca’s. He was previously CEO advisor to ProSiebenSat.1 Media, one of the largest media companies in Europe.
Dave is also a “perspiring” artist and writer who loves to draw and write funny. He has multiple certifications in creative and satirical writing as well as screenwriting. He publishes a career advice column called Breaking Bamboo, and a cartoon series called The ABC Life.
He wrote 'The Way of the Wall Street Warrior' to help underrepresented communities achieve their career goals and has pledged 100 percent of the net proceeds from his book to charity. The book sold almost 10,000 copies in the first two weeks of launch and reached the Top 10 Amazon Best Seller list in the business finance category. It ranked as Amazon's No. 1 Hot New Release in two categories: Business Finance, and Economics. Cal Newport is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Georgetown University, who specializes in the theory of distributed algorithms. He previously earned his Ph.D. from MIT in 2009 and graduated from Dartmouth College in 2004.

Jonathan Goldsmith is an actor who began his career on the New York stage, then started a career in film and television. He appeared in several TV shows from the 1960s to the 1990s.
Before becoming the Most Interesting Man in the World, Jonathan worked as a garbage collector, crashed in bug-infested apartments, and snuck into strangers’ bar mitzvahs for free food. He appeared in hundreds of plays, movies, and TV shows, including Dallas, Gunsmoke, and the Clint Eastwood film Hang ’Em High (1968). After he retired from his showbiz career, he found success in a network marketing company for waterless car-wash products – but after his business partnership went bad, he lost it all.
It was that loss that pushed him back to Hollywood and helped him to find his defining role as “The Most Interesting Man in the World.”
Jonathan has been an advocate for landmine victim support and has assisted the Morris Animal Foundation in their efforts to prevent and cure cancer in dogs. He also supported the S.A.B.R.E Foundation, Free Arts for Abused Children, which pairs artists with children in protective custody, and the Stella Link Foundation, a group calling attention to child sex trafficking in Cambodia. For Jonathan, a large part of his life is about giving back.
