Nick Swisher is an American former professional baseball outfielder and first baseman in Major League Baseball. He was a switch hitter who threw left-handed, and played for the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves.
He won the 2009 World Series with the Yankees against the Philadelphia Phillies and was an All-Star in 2010. A power hitter with excellent plate discipline, Swisher hit at least 20 home runs in each of nine consecutive seasons from 2005 to 2013, and reached 75 bases on balls on seven occasions in that span.
Swisher is the son of former MLB catcher Steve Swisher, who played for various National League baseball clubs in the 1970s and 1980s. Swisher was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Before his professional career, Swisher played college baseball for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Drafted by the A’s in the 2002 MLB draft, Swisher made his MLB debut with the Athletics in 2004, and played for the team through 2007. After he spent one year with the White Sox in 2008, the Yankees acquired him prior to the start of the 2009 campaign. He played in New York for four years before signing with the Cleveland Indians prior to the 2013 season.

General David Petraeus is a retired Four Star United States Army General and public official. He served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from September 6, 2011, until his resignation on November 9, 2012.
Prior to his assuming the directorship of the CIA, Petraeus served 37 years in the United States Army. His last assignments in the Army were as Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Commander, U.S. Forces – Afghanistan (USFOR-A) from July 4, 2010, to July 18, 2011.
His other four-star assignments include serving as the 10th Commander, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) from October 13, 2008, to June 30, 2010, and as Commanding General, Multi-National Force – Iraq (MNF-I) from February 10, 2007, to September 16, 2008. As commander of MNF-I, Petraeus oversaw all coalition forces in Iraq.

After developing an affinity for design while in the costume department in high school, Rebecca Minkoff moved to New York City at only 18 years old to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
In 2005, Rebecca designed her first handbag, which she soon dubbed the “Morning After Bag,” a.k.a. the “M.A.B.”. This iconic bag ignited Rebecca’s career as a handbag designer and inspired her edgy, feminine creations in the years to come.
After four years of designing statement-making handbags and accessories with her trademark leathers, studs and hardware, Rebecca returned to her roots of apparel design and introduced her first ready-to-wear collection in 2009.
The brand has four domestic retail stores, eight international locations, and is distributed in over 900 stores worldwide. In 2011, Rebecca won industry recognition when she was awarded the Breakthrough Designer Award from the Accessories Council.
In September of 2018, she established the Female Founder Collective, a network of businesses led by women that invests in women’s financial power across the socioeconomic spectrum by enabling and empowering female-owned businesses.

To me, the story of Tom Brady is the greatest example of preparation meeting circumstances. Had it not been for a single moment, Tom Brady might have been a career backup. That moment is what I like to call the “Mo Lewis moment,” a moment when the preparation that we have spent our entire lives on meets the circumstances.
The name comes from the former Jets linebacker that hit then Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe, knocking him out of the game and bringing Tom Brady into the game. We all have those moments.
Some of us aren't ready. Others cannot recognize those moments when they occur. So, not only is it about preparation; it is being able to recognize an opportunity in the adversity presented in front of you.
