About This Episode:
Bjørn Andreas Bull-Hansen is a bestselling Norwegian novelist. He has written in many genres, but is now working on his ongoing Jomsviking series. It was an overnight success in Norway and was almost instantly sold to several countries.
Bull-Hansen was born in Oslo, Norway, in 1972, and grew up in a suburb that was, at the time, quite rural. And here comes a big cliché: it was not a very happy childhood. He spent most of his youthful years excluded from social interaction with other kids his age. However, growing up in isolation makes one a good observer. Spending the majority of his time alone, Bull-Hansen began building imaginative worlds and learning about Norse mythology at a very early age. He knew he wanted to be an explorer, an actor, or a novelist.
Then came the game changer. Bull-Hansen started lifting weights when he was 13 years old, and after never being very good at sports, he discovered he could do things very few 13-year-olds could! It gave Bull-Hansen the confidence to lift his head and to start pursuing his dreams. Unfortunately, while nearing the completion of his economics studies, Bull-Hansen was in a car accident. Bull-Hansen was back in the gym only 7 days after the accident. However, due to neurological trauma, parts of his neck and shoulders were numb and Bull-Hansen lost his place on the Norwegian Junior Powerlifting team. He was 23.
Unwilling to accept defeat, Bull-Hansen turned to his other passion – writing. Already having been writing for 6 years, he submitted his first manuscript to a publisher, and his first book was published after only a few months.
Several years later, Bull-Hansen experiences a major breakthrough as an international author with the critically acclaimed Jomsviking. Still, Bull-Hansen chooses to live his life with a steadfast conviction to his own virtues, all of which are grounded in Viking culture. Now a father and living on a fjord once ripe with vicious and deadly battles, with the history of his people at his feet, Bull-Hansen’s connection with his past is awoken each time he steps outside his home or is on the water in his sailing yacht.

About This Episode:
Daughter of a long line of Army officers, in 1976 Lt. Col. Wendy Rogers was commissioned as a 5th-generation military officer into the Air Force. In 1981, Wendy Rogers became one of the first 100 women pilots in today’s Air Force by earning her wings at Williams AFB in Arizona. Following Air Force jet training, Wendy piloted worldwide airlift and humanitarian missions in the C-141 transport jet for several years. Wendy then served as a flight instructor for cadets at the US Air Force Academy.
She finished her career with over 3,000 hours of jet time and numerous commendations, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1996 after twenty years of active duty, Wendy and her husband Hal (also a retired Air Force officer) started their own home inspection business. Wendy Rogers is uniquely able to serve the needs of Legislative District 6 because she is able to pilot her own aircraft into many of the short-field runways in remote rural areas. Lt. Col. Rogers was elected to the Arizona State Senate in January 2021 and has been instrumental to the election integrity and America First movement.

About This Episode:
Each Thursday, we take a look at the thoughts I had for the week. This week, we’re looking at three different topics, including:
Your words should match your actions - what real integrity is…
Learning points from Travis: there's always someone in a worse place than you, support the troops not the war
Something that alarmed me: credit scores...

About This Episode:
Retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne is a recalibrated warrior, motivational speaker, actor, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees. Travis’s New York Times bestselling memoir, Tough as They Come, is currently available on sale in bookstores everywhere. Despite losing portions of both arms and legs from an IED while on active duty in Afghanistan, Travis continues to overcome life’s challenges, breaking physical barriers and defying odds.
On April 10, 2012, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED (improvised explosive device) while on patrol, losing portions of both legs and both arms. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries.
In September 2013, Travis and his wife Kelsey founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist post 9/11 veterans who have been injured in active duty or as a result of their service to our nation. The veteran and their families receive an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, barrier-free vacation to Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families, and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation in Maine’s great outdoors.
